Ucla Music Industry Degree
Would a degree in marketing help me in becoming an Artist and Repertoire agent in the music industry?
I am looking to move to the LA area and wanted to attend school there at UCLA. Since they don’t have a specific degree in music business I wanted to sign up for Marketing. My thoughts were that marketing would have a lot of qualities that recording firms would be interested to have in their A&R representative.
Any help would be appreciated.
It would very much so. I would recommend taking some management classes for your electives and possibly a P.R. class or two (you are working with musicians). It will also make you well rounded and more valuable.
