The term Rock N Roll, started way back to 1916 where it was then “Rocking and Rolling” meaning how gospel music moved you spiritually and emotionally. By the 1920′s, “Rocking and Rolling” was a way to say s e x and get it past the censors of the day. By the time the 1930′s came along the meaning changed from s e x to dancing. In the 1950′s Allen Freed shortened the name to Rock N Roll, and was the first time the term was used to describe a type of music.
