60′s–The Beatles – Hey Jude, and The Rolling Stones – Satisfaction
70′s–John Lennon – Imagine, and Don McLean – American Pie
80′s–Joan Jett And The Blackhearts – I Love Rock N Roll, and Guns N Roses – Sweet Child O Mine
90′s–Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Green Day – Time Of Your Life
2000′s–The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army, and Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out

Is this accurate? I need popular songs for the project. Just in case someone in my Grade 9 class knows the difference

Yeah, I was going to pick Longview for Green Day, but there were some not-so-great words I couldn’t pick around 
Good idea.
I like all the choices except the 70s. I would go with a band more representative of the 70s (Led Zeppelin, Queen).
Also, for the 90s, Teen Spirit is a good choice. But I think you should go with a song from an Alternative Rock Band, something like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, etc, instead of Time of Your Life. At the very least, you should pick a Green Day song that actually represents their 90s punk sound like Basket Case or When I Come Around.
