Origins of Rock and Punk bands names and logos
Ramones. Seem to have been inspired by Paul McCartney, who used Ramone as a surname, then all members of the band adopted this surname despite not being related. The logo was designed by Arturo Vega, sometime in the 70's, the concept is the Seal of the President of the United States of America. The names of the band members replace the original legend around the eagle holding a branch of a tree apple and a baseball bat instead of the olive branch and arrows. Vega's inspiration came after they saw the realization in Washington DC.
The Who. While brainstorming for a band name, someone suggested "that" because apparently that was the most common question every time someone came up with a name.In 1964, Brian Pike sketched a logo comprising the zeitgeist of the time: 'Unity' and 'uplifting advantage, "the two' H together recreate the first feeling, arrow while the second does.
AC / DC. The name was taken verbatim from a sewing machine, as something related to power, AC / DC / Live, others say it means "children of Anti-Christ of the Devil." As a close friend of the band, Gerard Huerta came up with a recycled version letters of his own Blue Oyster Clut logo, adding the lightning strike.
Led Zeppelin. Keith Moon was somehow came up with the name while talking on the new project, said it should go as a lead balloon.The Angel logo was inspired by William Rimmer 'Night of the fall of the Day ", which is the incarnation of Apollo, the Greek god of music. This figure was originally intended to characterize his record label "Swan Song", but ended being a distinctive band logo.
Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden was a torture device, like a cupboard, where the victim remained standing while being interrogated and stabbed, the most famous were like Mary, the mother of Jesus.The style font style used in the logo of the band name reminds final a V-shaped guitar, which was another feature of the band. The band also used to include a mascot in their tours and albums covers called 'Eddie'.
Guns N Roses. The name is an allusion to Traccii Guns and Axl Rose and surnames. And so is the logo, a highly successful arrangement of arms and roses.
The Rolling Stones. It is accepted that the band was named after a song by pop art Muddy Waters.The pair of lips and tongue is by far the band logo increasingly recognized. Originally drafted by John Pasche in 1971 and included hidden in the cover of 'Sticky Fingers', which soon became the icon of the band.
The Sex Pistols. The name was introduced by McLaren, who owned a punk clothing store called "sex." Jamie Reid's anti-aesthetic composition of the pieces of the papers that form the name of the group was in agreement with the band's ideology, anarchy.
