Pop Music Notation
Musical notation is obsolete as a means of keeping records of your own composition?
Since the portable digital recording equipment available? By no means I am a professional composer, but I think the recording technology is becoming obsolete and written notation, as as a result of musicians to record their compositions and days, compared with previous centuries means that musical notation is no longer required. Is it this is the beginning of the end of the musical notation? What do you think in the future we will learn to play music (even the big classical pieces), memorizing and reciting without read music? What role, therefore, have to learn to read musical notation in children? Maybe there will be a major shift towards learning to play a piece by ear and memory? Most pop music is learned and performed in this way and maybe even some contemporary artists playing classical music parts of pure recitation rather than relying on reading music.
