What defines rock music? Can it be rock heavy rock without guitars?
I've always wondered that. I used to think heavy metal guitars = But I've heard songs that rock bands are not really forms the guitars. So what defines rock music? What separates it from the pop? I say "pop" is pop because it's popular. Rock bands are so popular too.
Even when they sound like pop music tends to be "safer" than the music rock. And no, the rock does not have to have heavy guitars, of course not. When I was younger rock artists such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis characterized the different varieties of rock and roll rhythms with constant emphasis on the beat, and tons of energy. Look well known songs like "Johnny B Good" and "Jailhouse Rock", for example … energetic, and not a distorted guitar in sight. Although there are three days grace or AC / DC still rock. Even bands later, as the Beatles did not use distorted guitars. Rock music, for me, is dangerous and full of nervous energy. Rock artists have tended to be a wild and crazy little and pushed the boundaries in his day … Elvis shaking his hips on national television to heavy rock artists like Eddie Van Halen parties and destroy rooms hotel.
