Would you say that the music industry has lowered the bar?

nothing seems these days considering the music …. and I heard songs a couple of years ago, would have caused the singer to be booed off stage. Do you agree that the music industry is to lower the bar and let anything called music these days?

It is the music industry consumers are responsible for what occurs. so in general, we as consumers have lowered our standards. if we stop buying this crap they leave it.

Music Piracy, Youtube, and the Fans. A Tyger rant.

Maybe this music by Prince & the Revolution will never quite sound as, well, revolutionary as it did in 1984 (and nothing else has ever sounded like the extraordinary cooing and fluttering of “When Doves Cry”), but it’s a pop landmark in Prince’s Artist-ic career. A brave effort at cramming one disc full of Temptations classics, The Ultimate Collection nevertheless makes a couple of puzzling choices. Still, for the price, it’s hard to argue with. –Ric…

With popcorn acoustic guitars, trampoline fiddles, bumper-car bass lines, and caramel-coated sax, the Dave Matthews Band’s major-label debut is like an evening at the fair. “The Best of What’s Around” and “What Would You Say” swirl like the amusement-park ride on the album’s cover, sweeping the exhilarated and lightheaded listener higher as the ride spins faster. “Satellite” glides breezily like t…

Barney: What a World We Share [VHS]

$12.99

Dinosaur siblings B.J. and Baby Bop are feuding over a cardboard box when this 54-minute exclusive-to-videotape movie opens. This–and Stella the Storyteller’s forgotten suitcase–gives Barney and the kids in the treehouse a good excuse to visit France, Canada, and Mexico, searching for Stella and learning about good manners and sharing along the way. There’s nothing like Barney in a beret or Mont…
