Do you think that the 90′s UK Indie scene is so much more Culturally Iconic than the Indie scene this decade?
Personally its not even a question. The Indie scene from this decade symbolises the music industry, and the music industry only.
But the Indie scene from the 90′s symbolised so much more… it represented the cultural climate, the social climate, the political/economic climate. It was more than just music… It fused with every facet of our cultural influence, such as comedy, football/sport, movies, etc. it spoke to a whole generation and gave the nation a symbol of identity.
Everytime I listen to a Indie Band/Song from the 90′s I feel young again…………
