Music Industry Sues Lawsuit

$ 200 000 for downloading music? fair or unfair?
In the first trial in the U.S. to challenge the illegal downloading of music online, a single mother from Minnesota was ordered to pay $ US220, 000 ($ 247.549) for sharing 24 songs online. Jammie Thomas, 30, was the first among the 26,000 people sued by the world's most powerful recording companies to refuse a settlement after being beaten with a lawsuit by the Recording Industry U.S. and six major music labels. He rejected an offer to pay a few thousand dollars in fines and instead took the case to court. Source: http://www.smh.com.au/news/technology/fined-us220000-for-24-songs/2007/10/05/1191091325005.html
Why Sony did come out with a small fine, when We sell music CDs loaded with spyware? Do not pay $ 10,000 to each person who bought a damaged CD? Why continue to sell stereos with cassette recorders built into them. Is not record a song on the radio the same as stealing music? To my knowledge, still the name of Sony such equipment was in music stores. Why can not return CDs to buy, and do not like. Do not steal our money in this case? How many times have to compensate labels and artists for the recording of the same? If I bought Pink Floyd LP once, in a prerecorded cassette, then CD, and now in mp3 or iTunes, there should be a point where I could play "Dark Side of the Moon" on any device or format you choose – without having to pay more money for this recording of age. Why the big corporations come up with their scams, defective products, or mischief, while the small burns?
