Music Industry Schools
How successful universities of A & R and other music industry executives to attend?
I want to be a coordinator and RA, which is the talent undiscovered and match with composers and producers. I've been looking at different universities with music industry careers, but want to know what schools were successful A & R to attend.
To be honest many of them went to college or at least did not graduate. I know very few who went to programs music business, but the popularity of business schools of music is actually a fairly recent phenomenon. Come to think of it – I can think of at least four senior executives of A & R do not graduate college, 2-3 senior executives of A & R who were at the University of New York (though not for the music business) … In my opinion experience is much more important work. Any school in New York, Los Angeles or Nashville you can get a decent internship on a label or publisher would be a good bet.
