Why is downloading music illegally wrong?

Other, of course, than the fact that it’s illegal, thought laws have not always been morally correct, why is downloading music wrong? Is it? Or is it capitalistic technology’s way of overruling what was the corporatized music industry?

I ask because of this blog post i read: http://davidortez.com/

A song is a piece of property like any other. It is no different then your car or the money you earn at work. Some one or a group of people put their time, money and effort into making that song and it belongs to them. Most often the record company pays the band in advance for their work and that is why they are the ones that own the rights to that song for a certain period of time. Taking that song from someone or making copies of that song available to other people is the same as stealing any other piece of property because you are not paying the owner for it. Stealing is stealing no matter what it is and that is what makes it morally wrong and not just illegal. Yes, record companies can be greedy and often seem like they are over charging for their property but that is their right. This is counter balance with free market and you can often buy things, like CDs, cheaper at places like Walmart or Target then you could at an F.Y.E. store. When you pay for an album you are buying the right for YOU to use that album and it does not give you the permission or right reproduce that album and pass it along to others. Most media, CDs, DVDs and even most Video Games, allows you the right to make a back-up copy of that media for yourself only, incase the original is damaged. You must retain that original version in order for the copy to be valid.
