music industry jazz
did the music industry help pave the way for racial equality?

in a time where black people were still considered second class citizens it was perfectly fine to dance and sing along to the late great black legends of motown, rock and roll, jazz, etc. is it possible that by seeing and hearing these great talents the younger generations who were infatuated with the sounds of that time became to eventually notice that music was breaking down some racial barriers? im sure they werent consciously thinking this but it seems to me that this changed a lot of white america’s perceptions on african americans. tell me your thoughts on how music changed views on race from the past until now.

when we couldnt get things done thru political means, we try other avenues. music is the best – mass appeal to all colors. yes those were the days when all these black musicians came on board to highlight racsm. many hv talents beyond / surpassing their white cousterparts. so its true music breaks down all these barriers. many of us stop seeing colors. we see sameness, oneness.
true, the enlightened whites are now able to see how their prejudice is but a thin veil. get rid of it and u see how we can live together.
mixed marriages is the product of all these musical intrusions!

If your favorite part of a football game is when the marching band takes the field, then you’re going to love Blast. Think of the most rousing, in-sync band that you ever saw, turn them way up, add cool costumes and a black-and-white checkered stage with colored spotlights, throw in a good helping of the Stomp vibe, and you’ve got Blast. Color is the theme that threads the different musical pie…
