I missed X Factor when they were on so i just watched it on youtube now, and im not happy…
Correct me if im wrong, but aren’t these guys an Irish band? They must from Northern Ireland then if u consider them a UK band! ¬_¬
I know they have a UK record deal and most of their success was because of the UK as well as Ireland, but that still doesn’t mean they are a UK band! they could have least have said:
The biggest selling Irish band in the UK and Irish charts of the decade
or:
The biggest selling Irish band of the decade.
(actually sticking to the facts!)
Im sorry its just we barely have that much artists in the music industry so for the UK to make out as if irish artists are from the UK it p**ses me off! Ye have JLS now so back off!

And perhaps you’re being a tad oversensitive, the literal interpretation of that sentence could also be they’re the biggest selling band in the UK, they’re not necessarily laying claim to Westlife (G*d only knows why we want to) & if they want them, why not let them have’em?
Possibly the person speaking didn’t think about what they were saying & how it could be interpreted
