Music Industry Gdp

Is it bad for the business of copyright?
I was watching the following: http://blog.ted.com/2010/05/lessons_from_fa.php and brings Johanna Blakley bring up the point that the industries with the least amount of copyright and patent control (for example, the fashion industry) are more creative and the largest GDP by industries that have strict copyright and patent control (eg, music and film industry). Personally I work in IT industry and I realized how open source can reduce company costs by a lot but the business is reluctant to change. Is it the old attitude that patent rights copyright and protect their savings, which is damaging to business today? Do I need to get rid of the laws of copyright and patent? Or is something else at play here?
so if you have spent milllions to develop a process or invention, or would like to have patented what u can get your money and time in future unpatented, people are less likely to invent.

Olympics is the top sports story, and Ms. Pac-Man reigns at arcades. In rock & roll, there’s U2 growing in stature with each new tour and title. Even doubters of the Irish lads … |
