music industry funds
OMG, I got it, an idea to end most piracy in the US for good!!!?

Here’s an idea, how about the government increases our taxes–and then they fund all movies and music and etc flowing into the country. So any US citizen could grab a movie without paying any money up front. Money to the studios would be based on how many downloads and/or copies are given out to the public. Also, there would a be a foolproof security system in place, based on social security, that would make sure the movie industry doesn’t make more money than it should by downloading/getting their content over and over again.

What do you all think about this–are there any loopholes, do you think it could work???
Not just movies
Software…
Music…
Video games…
Books…
Anything else that can be pirated…
I’m sure 99% of the population people would like that kind of stuff…
But of course, I guess you can call the policy socialist…

Wouldn’t work. We have enough stuff taxed that not all of us agree on, and movies are a luxury. The fact is, not everyone pays taxes anyways, so it would be just another entitlement paid for by taxpayers. Pandora’s box was opened as technology evolved. We still use a lot of ancient technology to try and stop piracy. I think the movie and music industry need to put more into research on their own to find ways to stop it. They are clogging up the court system with these stupid lawsuits against people who can’t even pay them even if they win.

One of the best romantic comedies of the 1990s, this box-office hit cemented writer-director Cameron Crowe’s reputation as “the voice of a generation.” Crowe could probably do without that label, but he’s definitely in sync with the times with this savvy story about a sports agent (Tom Cruise) whose fall from grace motivates his quest for professional recovery, and the slow-dawning realization tha…
