Why do people overlook Indians (dot persons) as being smart?
I have known a lot of Indians and they were bright. My high school was ranked top 10 among US high schools and our past three valedictorians have all been Indians (we say each year they were lighter, one year we had an Indian valedictorian who was really dark, next year brownish, and the past year he was olive skinned, didn’t know Indians looked like that). I have worked with Indians and a lot of them in my area are engineers, doctors, run successful businesses or IT computer geeks.
Most people overlook Indians as being “funny”, “clownish”, :scary looking” and “party people who dance to their Indian music” but I have not heard anyone say they are bright people. My uncle works in the computer industry and he says he knows a lot of Indians who work there and are experts.
Why do people overlook Indians as being bright?
I don’t know but I saw it being posted a lot on society and culture.
Ah, I know tons of people who think South Asian Indians are smart, not dot persons as you term them.
Many indeed are in the IT computer industry and a lot work in those call centers overseas, and some are doctors as well.
Indians tend to be very insular and keep to themselves in North American culture so people aren’t really exposed to their culture.
