Music Industry Employees

MUSIC DOWNLOADS WHILE AT THE SCHOOL OR OFFICE, SHOULD IT BE STOPPED?
A great deal of audio file swapping occurs in colleges and businesses. This probably is because college and business network connections are much faster than home Internet connections. Studies estimate that as many as one in five computers at work contains file-swapping software. Some colleges and businesses have banned music Web sites. They maintain that downloading and sharing music creates a tremendous amount of traffic, clogging networks. They also fear legal liability as the music industry grows more aggressive in pursuing copyright violations. As a result, about 35 out of 250 companies surveyed in a recent poll have disciplined or reprimanded employees for downloading music, and some schools are using filtering software to deny access to music Web sites. Several student groups have formed to protest this response. Should students and/or employees be allowed to download music files? Why or why not?
No. It’s not their internet. On top of that, they’re using it for illegal purposes. I can’t see a logical reason to let them continue illegally downloading copyrighted materials on bandwidth that doesn’t belong to them.

Philadelphia $3.88 Philadelphia wasn’t the first movie about AIDS (it followed such worthy independent films as Parting Glances and Longtime Companion), but it was the first Hollywood studio picture to take AIDS as its primary subject.
