Music Industry Breakdown
What work can i do OUTSIDE an office in the UK with my life/skills?
Hi – im 27, have had 3 breakdowns, suffer major depression, have no life, rarely go out, live at home with parents, earn little money, have attempted suicide etc etc (pls see other questions)… anyway im trying to think of things to change my life around and one of the things i hate the most is doing office work. I have always been analytical and my strength was English lit which i got a degree in, but since then i have ended up in admin because i wanted to work in the music industry (and that was the only way in) and then because admin was all i was experienced in that was all i could continue with. Then when i got ill admin or shop work was all i can handle, but now i realise its killing me…
1 of my therapists once told me she thought i was creative & part of the reason i kept getting ill was because i had no outlet 4 it and so i internalised it all. Something creative does sound better but how would i know where to start or if i can even do it…plus i am 27 with no skills
Have you thought about community work with vulnerable people. I think such work takes you out of yourself and makes your own problems seem very small. I also suffer from severe depression. I manage a charity for older people and swear that it is what has kept me sane. Good luck
