Mp3 Music Repair Tool
80 gb zune battery life worn down and I need to know if the repair is a professional level task?
I have a 2 year old 80 GB zune (I love it and its the best mp3 player I’ve ever had). But I forgot to unplug it from my xbox 360 for a long time (like a whole month) and I know lithium ion batteries stop holding charges after being charged so much and now my zune only plays continuous music for about 2 hrs before completely dying compared to about 12 hrs before I left it plugged in
Im going to buy the replacement battery and the tool to do the work off of ebay for $17 but I read somewhere the battery needs a sodering tool to be properly connected. So Im asking for clarification about the sodering issue and if I can do this myself without a sodering tool.
Whoever is selling the battery is naturally going to try to convince you that it’s a doable task. As much as the device cost when you bought it, it’s probably best not to find out the hard way. You could render the device totally unusable. Take it to the Geek Squad or some similar repair facility. If they screw it up, they’re responsible at least so you won’t be out in the cold with a destroyed Zune.
