high definition audio…how do you know?
How do you know if audio/music is in HD. I make music and also listen to a lot of music and Im wanting to RE-RECORD all of my music in High Definition. How do i do this?
I see all this videos on youtube and see on download sites where it says the music is in High definition….how do they get it all in that format?
Basically, Im wanting to know how to convert/re-record my own music in high definition and what would be the easiest way?
(im aware that if something isnt HD, you can just make it HD. but how do you get it (specifically .wav/.mp3) in HD?

It’s a marketing ploy that is used. The general consensus, is that if a song is ripped off of a CD, and encoded as a 128kbps MP3 or higher, it is then considered a HD song. Videos on YouTube that support the HD picture resolutions (720p, and 1080p) are allowed to have the sound encoded as AAC 128kbps music files in those videos. For example, I have videos on YouTube. If I upload a video with a soundtrack that has a 256kbps bit rate, but a video resolution of only 480p, then YouTube will down convert the audio to a 96kbps AAC audio track. But if I upload the same video with a higher video resolution of say 720p, then YouTube will down convert it to a 128kbps AAC file. (AAC stands for Advanced audio codec.)
YouTube does not offer i Tunes, or Amazon MP3 audio quality sound. The best sound quality that you can get from YouTube is 128kbps sound quality. (or audio cassette tape sound.)
If you buy a CD in the store, it is considered HD sound. And really anything above a 128kbps MP3 is considered HD sound.
So the best thing to do if you want HD sound, is to rip your Cd’s as high bit rate MP3′s, or better yet, rip them as Wav files. Then you will have HD sound.
