What Linux to install on new laptop? Wanted:, simple user-friendly interface
I'm an art photographer who uses computers simple photo editing (as in Photoshop) and normal matter such as email, Internet and word processing. I also use computers to archive my music library (mp3) and listen to him. I just bought my first laptop (a Sony Vaio) and I would give Linux a chance (such as only operating system). I am interested in encrypting the whole thing (with something like TrueCrypt). In general, I want to save resources through a simple and straightforward operating system without dumb bells and whistles graphics ridiculous Windows Vista. I spend as little time as possible having to schedule things and as long as possible to get the job done. The operating system must be self-explanatory and easy to use, but also should give me some control over how my computer runs. What Linux version do you recommend?
Hi, I'd suggest openSUSE, most of its polsihed, easy to use, looks good and has better hardware support their cause has a new kernel than most other distributions that is important for the new machines. openSUSE also has one of the best power management is extremely important for laptops.
