women in modern times?

The music industry seem to portray women as sex objects and nothing more …. Silly girls like Britney Spears and Beyonce, along with Christine Aguilera, do not stop feeding this image degrading. Why men in 2009, with women seen as nothing more than a vagina and breast and someone to carry their babies? Why do men have a problem with intelligent women as noted by Helena Kennedy, a top lawyer in London? The book, "An essential guide for serious singers and musicians' talk about this? very interesting view you have there and I agree with some of them. I think sometimes women who so request, like the clothes they wear and how act. because the media all we see is that women like that and some young girls see this as the way forward. although some men good ones out there (somewhere) you just have to find them. not everyone is taken by the media and I am one of those people who isn't (thank god!)

Best of David Bowie

$7.01

Though one of rock’s most influential figures, David Bowie’s accomplishments are pocked by some distinct ironies. His willful efforts at being a musical and visual chameleon spurred triumphs in genres as diverse as folk, glam, new wave, and electronica. Given the dizzying range and success of his ’70s incarnations–from Ziggy to the Thin White Duke to the gaunt, goth-cypher of Low and Heroes–he s…

Walt Disney seems to have had a special affection for Lewis Carroll’s “Alice” stories. “Alice’s Wonderland” (1923), a short about a live-action little girl in a cartoon world, led to his first successful series, the “Alice” comedies (collected on Walt Disney Treasures: Disney Rarities–Celebrated Shorts, 1920s -1960s). During the early ’30s, he talked about making an animation/live-action feature …

Mary Poppins (Two-Disc 45th Anniversary Special Edition)

$17.76

There is only one word that comes close to accurately describing the enchanting Mary Poppins, and that term was coined by the movie itself: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Even at 2 hours and 20 minutes, Disney’s pioneering mixture of live action and animation (based on the books by P.L. Travers) still holds kids spellbound. Julie Andrews won an Oscar as the world’s most magically idealized na…
