Is Hip Hop Capitalized

What constitutes a Hip Hop Sellout?
There’s always talk about artists selling out when they manage to garner mainstream appeal. Why can’t a hip hop artist Make money and have success within the mainstream? So many people outside of hip hop capitalize off of hip hop..shouldn’t the artist who help create the scene be allowed to enjoy some financial rewards without criticism from their fans..?
Or would you prefer they wear Flip Flops in the Winter?

Damn.. Thank you. Thank You.
Hey Ninja!!!
It really bugs me when people call a rapper a sellout just for making it big in the mainstream. That has nothing to do with selling out.
However, if they made it big by deliberately putting out bad or sub-par music purely because they know it’ll make more money, then I would call them a sell out.
But only if they had artistic integrity to start with.
Making money is NOT selling out.
Starting off being all about the music then compromising that to a large extent becuse the money is more important to you does.
It’s really hard to prove who’s a sellout and who isn’t, because ultimately it comes down to what’s in that person’s heart when they do it – and it’s unlikely they’re going to admit greed affects their music.
