International Hip Hop Competition
Hip hop clothing for workshop?
Hi! I am going to take my first intro to hip hop workshop class soon and I am wondering what is considered normal dance clothing for such a class. I watched a lot of dance competition videos online (Body rock, Vibe, Hip Hop international,etc) and noticed most dancers either wear shorts, jeans, or sweat pants. Seeing how it’s my first workshop, I want to dress to fit into the class. Would anyone mind telling me what kind of clothing I should wear (namely what kind of shorts I should wear and what website I can buy those shorts)?
it depends on what youre most comfortable in.
i would suggest not wearing jeans until you see what other people in the class wear. i would say bigger, baggier sweatpants.
definitely sneakers with some good traction on the bottom.
now for the top: you could go with a big baggy top (always works with hip hop) or if you feel comfortable in a tighter fitting top, thats great too! tighter fitting tops will show off the movement better.
it’s not very uptight clothing so im sure whatever you wear will be fine. but really, some choreographers may get offended if you show up in jeans so be safe with sweatpants until you see what its like
