Hip Hop Spinning Music
Why dont hip hop/rap artist make music videos as diverse as those of rock bands?
I’ve noticed most (not every) hip hop/ rap videos are very similar to each other, its all about cars, girls, jewellery, spinning rims, holding bundles of cash…and more girls, but when it comes to rock videos they are very unpredictable or they try to tell a story, like a short film, Im asking myself for how long will hip hop/ rap videos stay stuck in the same ‘theme’, why cant/dont they make diverse videos?
its because the only hip hop music videos that gets played on tv is pop being called hip hop and in the mind of those so called rappers cars, bling and hoes is all they need. Go to Youtube and look for hip hop music videos from the 90′s, those are better both the quality of the music and even the videos are better.
Forexample in most booty songs today you got half naked girls running around getting their ass smacked and actin like strippers, with fancy cars and money being showered every where in the video and to make it worse, sometimes those things are in videos that arnt even booty songs or songs taht involve women.
in the ice cream music video, which is a booty song by raekwon ft cappadonna, ghostface killah and method man the girls have wu tang shirts and shorts on, the shirts are lifted up where you can see their stomach a little, but no where near how the girls in todays music viedos are and the girls are basically just standing in the back round while raek them are rapping and the only cars in the video are some cars parked on the street and a ice cream truck. No one is wearing fancy jewlery, there is no money in the video and the rappers are not slapping their asses let alone hardly even entieracting with the women in the video. This is sad because a music video about girls from the 90′s is less materialistic then modern “rap” music videos we have today.
