modern music gets samples from oldies right?
i’m in a never ending feud with my friend over which modern bands, mainly rap & hip hop, get their samples from older bands such as earth wind and fire and what not
if u can get a list or link that would be very helpful, THANK YOU!
Most hip-hop just recycles old James Brown and George Clinton — they are the true visionaries. We need more original, creative artists like them, not producers that just “sample” someone else’s work.
That’s plagiarism, not talent.
Dr. Dre and Snoop, to cite one example, rode George Clinton’s talent all the way to the bank.
