Do you think it is fair to rank rappers?
I constantly see articles and blogs ranking rappers and debating who is the greatest alive/dead. Most of them are so generic and redundant that I start to question peoples logic in calculating what makes a great emcee or what defines someone as a legend. Music is such a personal medium. If my top ten emcees did not include Biggie, Tupac or Jay, is it wrong? Is it possible to fairly rank emcees when hip hop is so diverse and widespread? Is the opinions of few out weighted by the thoughts of many?
It’s everyone’s right so it is certainly fair. That doesn’t mean your list is by any means correct or right. I personally don’t believe in lists, only puttin them in certain areas, like this guy is top 50 which is in general for means one of the best.
A lot of people here’s top tens do not include Biggie, Tupac, or Jay.
The opinions of the few are outweighed by the many, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have value.
