Bay Area Hip Hop Influence?
Why don’t artists like Mac Dre, E-40, Messy Marv, etc. get credit for their contributions to Hip Hop? There are several popular words in our culture today that originated from Bay Area cats as well as the Hyphy movement but people don’t seem to be up on them.
KK – Hyphy isn’t really just about dancing. It’s a way of life. It’s a way of speaking, acting and doing things for a lot of people in the Bay area. Come on, you know we cool but you could at least give a half way decent answer once in a while.

that’s exactly what i’ve been thinking for a while now. the bay doesn’t get as much shine as they deserve. although in my own opinion the new bay area stuff can’t compare to the older stuff. i just bought Mac Dre’s album Back N Da Hood a few weeks ago and despite it being recorded from Fresno County Jail, it’s still a good album.
