Hip Hop Idol

Why dont talent shows like American Idol and X factor showcase Hip Hop/Rap performances?
Rap fans are being short changed on all the music talent shows. All other genre are represented from rock to country but not hip hop/rap and this is a genre that generates millions for the industry.
Because rapping is not considered to be “singing” and shows like American Idol, X factor, and The Voice are showcasing the talent of those who can hit high notes, stay in tune, etc.
Imagine you tell people you’ll be singing and you start rapping. They’ll be like wtf because rapping is not singing.
