Hip Hop Essentials 2008
What are some essential classic bands/albums?
I know it’s a cliche question, but I’m finding it really difficult to sort through the mind-blowlingly vast amounts of music and genres available, having only really gotten into music about 2008. I’m 17 and I unfortunately grew up with So Fresh and other awful concepts, so I really missed out on the good stuff.
My favourite bands are Radiohead, Elbow, I Am Kloot, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, The Cure, Interpol, Murder By Death, Nirvana, Oasis, The Smashing Pumpkins and plenty of others. I would really like some personal recommendations on similar fantastic bands and/or the best music of past decades, and I’m not a metalhead (unless it’s just a really great album) or into hip hop/rap.
