Hip Hop Early Search
Do these hip hop lyrics sound familiar???
Rapped and sang by girls(a guy sings just a bit in the song.) Probably early to mid 90′s.
Verses were rapped by one girl with what sounds like two girls singing “do do do do, do do do do . Starts, “Mama always told me not to let myself get caught, don’t wanna see me alone and turned out.”
Chorus is sang. “One by one we can’t make it, can’t fake it, if we are to be as one. One to one it’s not hard to relate to, if you open up your heart. Love one on one.”
I have done serious searching for a LOOONG time and would be happy to get ANY feedback on this. It’s like the song never existed, except I have it on a cassette of songs off the radio.
I was looking for that song too. It was one of my favorites in college. I think the station that played it was 102.5 FM in Santa Cruz, CA. It’s really strange. Given the search results with Google and Yahoo, it’s as if the the song never existed.
If it helps your search, I was in school from 1992-1996. I’m guessing the song must have been on the air between 1992-1994. I remember around that time girl groups where pretty popular like SWV, TLC and Salt & Pepper.
If you find the name of the song, please post it here. I’m really curious to find out too.
