Hip Hop Dymez
Do you agree with Nas and many people who say Hip Hop is Dead?
cause when i was little i listened to a lot of new school hip hop not knowing anything about the history behind hip hop
but after i heard Hip Hop is Dead by Nas i started listening to real Hip Hop like Nas,2Pac,Biggie, Rakim, KRS-One, Eminem, and many others
Also lately I’ve heard a lot of people who say Lil’ Wayne, Soulja Boy,Flo Rida have killed Hip Hop because all they rap about is sex,violence,money and drugs.
I also have started to listen to YouTube/Internet rappers such as D-Pryde,Traphik, J.Reyez, Audible, Wax, DyMez-A-DuZin and so forth.
So i want to know what your opinions are on Hip Hop and its state right now in 2009.
Hip Hop will never die! Rappers have included sex, violence, money and drugs in their lyrics since the early 90′s (even before). So to say that Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Flo Rida(the list goes on) are killing Hip Hop is preposterous! Yes, their lyrics are simple and dull, but they are attracting new fans to the culture. Nas is a talented rapper, but he needs to start appealing to the fans, switch it up or deliver another Illmatic! All in all it comes down to you, the listener to decipher what songs or rappers you relate to. Hip Hop will never die!
