Double Standard About Rap?

Ok. I hear many people say “I hate rap” and “Rappers are all talentless” “It has bad messages.”

If the message in a song meant so much to people, why don’t they bash metal, punk, and screamo??
Some rap AND some rock have drug references, sexual references, violent messages.
Some rock has MUCH more severe messages than rap.

Some people say rappers are talentless. In my opinion, it sometimes takes more effort to rap than to sing. Some people have natural singing voices and build skills from there. Rappers have to start from nothing.

And it isn’t fair to say you hate a WHOLE genre of music unless you’ve heard every single song of that genre ever made.

I’m not crazy about rap, hip-hop, pop, or country, but I can’t say that I don’t like, and will NEVER like ANY of the songs.
I have some favorite rap, hip-hop, pop, and country songs even if I’m not big on the genres.

Explain, people, explain! DX

The reason they really hate rap is because of the mainstream influence and popularity of the music. That’s not to mention that it’s a music created by inner city blacks as another means to get out of poverty. The sad part of it is that they don’t have a problem with Eminem or other white artist just the black ones.
