Hey guys , im a beginning producer with not much instrument playing ability and i am now about to purchase ableton live ! i show most ofmyinterest in hip hop music but my question is would this program be a good starting guide for me and my genre of music ? and also would anybody be able to give me any tips on what to start trying to learn to do first i.e put drum loops together and get used to writing melodies or etc ? any help would be awesome as i am very passionate in my music and would love to start making some music

ableton live is awesome. I suggest that since you claim not to play any instements and prolly won’t do much recording maybe you should spend the extra hundred bucks and get ableton suite cuz it has more instrements.
but here are some mistakes that alot of beginning producers make:
1.they don’t read the manual cuz they think it doezn’t say anything good. back in the day there were no websites to ask questions on, there were no pro tools certification programs, there were just owners manuals and owners manuals today remain one of the best sources of information.
2.they use headphones or high-fi speakers to mix there songs.
my suggestion, read your owners manual front to back, you won’t just learn about ableton, you’ll learn about sound and engineering period. the skills you gain from the owners manual will transfer from ableton to any other program or even hardware that you may mess with in the future.
i also suggest you start saving some money to buy some nice monitors so you can hear a true image of the sound.
