Hip Hop Culture Influence

what positive influence does hip hop have on the african american culture?
its a research paper i have to do
I’m not sure why you want to specify African American culture, since Hip Hop is a culture which has influenced many races within and outside of America. It may be more difficult to prove how it has effected one specific race. Also, you should look at Hip Hop as a whole and not just focus on rap, which it seems like you were already planning on doing. But as far as rap is concerned, many rappers influence their listeners to read by dropping names of books within their rhymes such as Talib Kweli, Canibus, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, etc. Rap also influences listeners to write and to improve their writing skills because the lyricism in rap is concise, and the rhyme schemes are probably more intricate than any other genre of music. Graffiti has inspired many people to express themselves in an unconventional way and to explore their artistic talents which otherwise may have never been discovered. Breakdancing is a great way to keep in shape, have fun and dance. DJing and Beatboxing are also great ways to express your creativity and imagination. All of the above are positive influences on anyone trying to avoid the traps of the ghetto. But again, I hope this isn’t your angle with the whole African American culture thing, because it would be stereotypical and offensive. Not to mention, every race has been influenced and have made major contributions to all of the elements in the Hip Hop culture mentioned above.
