Digital Music Industry Growth

Is it me or have there been no real innovations to increase growth or profit in the United States in 5 years?
Youtube doesn’t make profit by people uploading already copyrighted material, Myspace and Facebook is only making few advertising dollars, High Speed internet just made it quicker for people to pirate software and movies with torrents. Ipod and Iphone just ruined the music industry by allowing people to by 1 track at a time. Digital Cameras ruined the sales of film. No wonder our economy is in the toilet there has been no real innovation.
Really? Have a kid. Video games are constantly being reinvented. XBox Live—-remember not being able to interact online while playing, how did we survive! Cell phones, we have to update at a minimum of every 2 years and now everyone has one! It has not affected the landline part of the industry, so this is an expansion. Kitchens now have appliances that most have never dreamed. I have a double oven, and other items that were not that commone a few years back. Now it is typical. Televisions, how many people had a flat screend panel in 2003? Vacuums, we never purchased more frequently than every 10-15 years when I was a child. Now every few years we buy one and it has greater abilities. That is innovation. Flooring, you can replace hardwood floor yourself and can install them as the interlocking variety makes it easy. This increases the sales in flooring material as it is more accessible. The list goes on and on………you just have to look!
The economy is in bad shape due to the financial mismanagement and lack of regulations. That is another story completely!
