British Pop Music History
How did music in the 1980′s affect society?
I’ve got a research paper in American History. I trying to write about how music in the 80′s split society into groups, or cliques. I know Pop music(Jackson and Madonna) changed a lot and affected people, as did the rise of Thrash Metal and British Metal. But I’m looking for places to start more in-depth research. If anyone has any specific resources I can look at (not Wikipedia, the 80′s music article has crap for references), I would be much obliged.
I’m looking specifically for places to start my research, not places to start topics.
I would say start at the late 70′s because it is the starting point of many bands that crossed into the 80′s and showed the style to come like the cars. There were alot of things going on such as the cold war it ended in 89 but you have song like 99 balloons becoming a hit. it may help to do what i did ask people who lived at that time
