MODE 9 RELEASE SESSION
Nigeria’s hottest lyricist and towering talent Mode 9 is at it again. The Unique artiste on Wednesday had a release session for his upcoming album titled “Paradigm Shift Chapter 9”.
45 seconds of each of the 21 track album was played for the listening of the expectant guests present at the event.
Giving a short address, the three time Channel O Award Winner said his new album “Paradigm Shift Chapter 9” is all about lyrics and rhythm, adding that he wants his fans to not just enjoy the music but to also listen to his lyrics because he has taken his time to put his lines together.
He also reminded his fans that he isn’t a gangster rap Artiste, he’s just lyrical.
The 21 track album will feature different Artistes from different genres of music. Track 10 titled “Fire Burn”, a dance-hall song featuring Mallam Spicey was adjudged by guests present as the HIT SONG of the album.
Some fans described the album as a Classic, adding that it’s a comeback to what Hip-Hop used to be in the early 90’s. While some others simply described it as DA BOMB!
Born Babatunde Olusegun, the 6ft rapper was born in St Mary’s hospital, Paddington, in the United Kingdom and says he fell in love with Hip Hop when he heard Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five back in the early 80s. For him, it was a crazy new experience. He read a lot and took his music seriously.
Even though some quarters in the Nigerian music industry thinks he’s not commercial enough, Mode 9 still believes the people feels his music and sees himself as the bravest lyricist in Nigeria.
Mode 9 who claims to have written his first rhyme in the late 80s, has contributed a lot to the development of hip-hop music in Nigeria.
He recently released his new hot Single with R & B rave of the moment, Banky W titled “Talking To You” .
