Jordan Zevon Wins 2008 USA Songwriting Contest
Jordan Zevon won the overall Grand Prix of the 2008 USA Songwriting Contest along with co-writers Jordan Summers and Morty Coyle. Your home will be the winning song CD compilation of the U.S. Songwriting Contest this year. Jordan is a singer and songwriter from Los Angeles won 1st Prize at the 2006 USA Songwriting Contest but was not placed in the overall Grand Prize, 2nd Prize overall and 3 rd Prize overall at that time. This year, Jordan improved to first place. He has a contract with New West Records. Her 2006 winning song "The Joke's On Me" is the first track on his album debut "guts" of New West Records. He has also appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman" on TV.
Nathan Brumley, a singer and songwriter from Nashville, TN won the second prize overall with his song "breath of my soul." Hanneke Cassel, a violinist and composer from Boston, MA won the third place overall prize with her song "A shadow and a thought."
~ FIRST MIDDLE EAST Israel and WIN
Yasmin Levy, became in the first songwriter from Israel and the Middle East to win the First Prize in the USA Songwriting Contest. Won first prize in the Global category with his song "Me Voy."
Onno Krijn, & Kramer Jeroen Jeroen Zijlstra also became the first of his country (Holland) to win first prize. They won the category for Children. Other first prize winners are: Jorge Lan, Madrid, SPAIN (1 º Prize, America), Joey Avalos (1 º Prize, Rock / Alternative), Wainwright Roche Mashay pepper and Corey White (1 º Prize, Dance / Electronic) and Lucy (1 st Prize – Folk).
WIN ~ TEEN PHENOM HONORABLE MENTION to clinch the youngest winner
Sam Plotkin Kate Voegele record-breaking youngest to win an award at the USA Songwriting Contest in only 15 years old. Kate 18 years old when he entered the USA Songwriting Contest and won.

Helle Hansen (Denmark) holds the record for having the largest number of songs placed in the final for the second consecutive year, with 3 songs. She also won an honorable mention. She is also one of the most consistent winners we've had. He won an award every year an honorable mention since 2002.
